    Our Customer located in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who will align with business initiatives to drive projects to completion with acceptable levels of test coverage to satisfy the risk profiles for projects and desired time to market.  The QA Engineer is primarily responsible for executing QA tasks to certify code for deployment to the Production environment. The QA Engineer will provide guidance and training to assist other team members. Document and execute test cases to ensure proper coverage from a functional, regression, and performance standpoint. Appropriately escalate issues to QA lead and support QA activities across multiple projects, technologies, and applications.


    Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions:

    • Implement quality assurance using defined practices and procedures.
    • Write and maintain test plans for user interface, functional, system and ad-hoc testing.
    • Test mobile applications and responsive websites using mobile devices.
    • Write test cases that verify functional and non-functional requirements of a feature.
    • Implement and promote the use of behavior-driven development.
    • Accurately track and report on Quality Assurance metrics.
    • Support Release Management process through scheduling and installation.
    • Understand and evaluate risk factors as they relate to changing requirements.
    • Test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications and identify issues in software or services.
    • Work collaboratively with developers during all stages of projects to provide in-process testing results.
    • Collaborate in the agile software development process, independently representing the QA team.
    • Participate in the design of new features to drive quality and adherence to specifications.
    • Create and update documentation for the QA process
    • Work closely with the business teams on User Interface layout and design.
    • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications & Skills Required to Perform Job Duties:

    • Strong knowledge of QA procedures and methodology.
    • Ability to analyze requirements and strategy and point out possible quality related problems.
    • Experience with Mobile Test planning and execution.
    • Proficiency in testing legacy programming languages such as RPG.
    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, HTTP, Java, JavaScript, XML and AJAX.
    • Service Testing with SoapUI or other similar testing tools.
    • Basic familiarity with Unix command line and Tomcat / JBoss Configuration.
    • Knowledge of databases, SQL structures and writing complex queries.
    • Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
    • Excellent reading, verbal and written communication skills to effectively read and comprehend technical information and instructions, communicate and collaborate with coworkers and clients and document processes, etc.
    • Strong organization, time management, multi-tasking, self-initiative, ownership and accountability.
    • Ability to focus with attention to detail to demand quality production code.
    • Must work well in a team environment and be able to give and receive constructive feedback.
    • Able and willing to work more than 40 hours a week including some evenings and weekends as required.
    • Understanding of all components and/or phases of software development and maintenance lifecycle.


    Physical Requirements to Perform Job Duties:

    • Walk/move from place to place throughout building on a variety of surfaces including tile, wood and carpet.
    • Sit/remain seated at a computer for up to 8 hours a day, usually 4 hours at a time.
    • Bend turn and twist repetitively.
    • Reach forward, overhead and down below.
    • Work indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
    • Use a PC with dual monitors, keyboard and mouse continuously on a daily basis.
    • Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.


    Education and/or Experience Required To Perform Job Duties:

    • BS or BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related major or relevant Job experience.
    • 5+ years of experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
    • 5+ years of Quality Assurance work experience with proven ability to test and certify enterprise level software.
    • 2+ years of experience with Mobile, API, and Client/Server Testing.
    • Understanding of change requests and/or release management processes.
    • Prior work experience with development methodologies including Waterfall, Scrum, Agile, test-driven development and/or behavior driven development.
    • Work experience with the Atlassian suite preferred.
